Emily Shain is an actor, teacher and producer originally from Berkeley, California. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program and her Master of Fine Arts in Acting at the University of California San Diego. As an actor, Emily has performed with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre (As You Like It), San Diego Rep (Actually), La Jolla Playhouse (Indecent), Guthrie Theater (What May Fall), JACK (The Straights) ,Dog and Pony Theatre Co (The Twins Would Like To Say), Park Square Theatre (Becky’s New Car), Penobscot Theatre Company (Papermaker), Ubuntu Theater Project (Waiting for Lefty), the side project (Cherry Smoke), Eclipse Theatre (Beyond the Horizon), amongst others. She can be seen in the webseries “Keep Me Posted” and “Easy Abby” as well as in various commercials, voiceovers and industrials. As an educator, Emily is currently on faculty at the New York Film Academy where she recently led their acting program at the Florence, Italy campus. She has taught at Playwrights Horizons Theater School/ Tisch NYU, New Mexico State University Las Cruces, UCSD and the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA Actors Training Program. Emily is a proud partner with the Back Room Shakespeare Project.
